* Please note, to apply you should hold a first direct current account and be resident in the UK. A first direct settlement account is linked to your first direct current account. A trading limit will be applied to your first direct shares account. The application process takes about five minutes and you will need your current account details to hand.

You may open either a Sole or Joint Portfolio. If you would like to open both, you will need to complete two separate on-line application forms.

Once we have received your application we will send you documentation to sign. We will normally open your account within three weeks of receipt of your signed documents. After this, you will be able to access the sharedealing service. We will write to let you know your account is open.
